Parkside Defensive Delivers

Parkside digs deep and breaks out the hard hats in order to claim victory in a grind-it-out physical battle over Indiana. UW-Parkside men’s soccer squad hosted the Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles (2-2) (2-1) on a picturesque friday afternoon at Wood Road Field in Kenosha.

The Rangers (5-1-1) (1-1-1) would strike first and never look back as senior forward Johnson Thao’s lone goal (5) would be protected by a stingy defense.

Lady Rangers Beat Missouri S&T 5-1

It was an absolutely picture perfect day outside, as well as for the Women’s Soccer team. This afternoon, the UW-Parkside Rangers faced the Missouri S&T Miners. The game was heavily controlled by the Parkside ladies, whose early speed and control lead to a 5-1 win today.

Right out of the gate, Missouri S&T goal keeper Stacey Luquette was put to the test. The Rangers were able to get three very close chances on goal within the first five minutes of the game. Come the 11th minute of the game, a Parkside corner nearly lead to the first goal of the game, but the rebound shot was deflected by an S&T defender guarding the right hand post.

Moxley, Rangers Comeback Late

Featuring late game heroics, senior defense-man Jason Moxley rises to the occasion, preserving Parkside’s undefeated record. In their conference opener, the Parkside Rangers mens’ soccer team hosted Missouri S & T at a breezy Wood Road Field in Kenosha late Friday afternoon. In a low-scoring battle, the Rangers would stage a comeback that portrayed resiliency and the ability to make adjustments that ended in a 1-1 tie.

“We knew the importance of coming out with a strong defense and forcing pressure offensively,” said Moxley. “Our back line held up like a wall and we benefited from some great saves.”
