The Students of Wisconsin Education Association and #ABCletsREAD are holding a book drive on campus this month. SWEA is an organization for students interested in furthering themselves in the field of education as well as professionally.

#ABCletsREAD is Brynn Weinzirl’s (Miss Kenosha), platform in the Miss America Organization to raise awareness for the importance of literacy for all ages. They are joining together to put on this book drive.

All books will be donated to schools in Kenosha and Racine, and if there are enough donations, some will go to the Cops ‘N Kids reading organization. They are hoping to receive as many books as possible to put into local elementary school systems.

The drive will be going on through the end of April. If all goes well and enough books are collected, they would like to make it an annual fundraiser.

There are eight different donation boxes placed around campus, including in front of the library and in the Student Center right before the bridge. All books are accepted, including new or used children’s books, teen books, and adult chapter books.
