The Lady Rangers have a lot to live up to this season. They have been a powerhouse in the GLVC for nearly a decade playing under Coach Jenny Knight-Kenesie, while also making some noise in post-season play on the national scene, NCAA division two, over the past few seasons. This year’s version of the Lady Rangers has a good mixture of experience and youth.
This mixture is led by starting Senior guards Jenna Endisch, Jaleesa Trussell, and Sierra West. Endisch is this seasons leading scorer and gets to the free throw line like it’s her job. Trussell does a little bit of everything, while West is a tiny terror on defense and is leading the team in steals. The paint is held down by Gaby Bronson and Danielle Slivka, who are a sophomore and junior respectively. These two might have pretty smiles, but are not afraid to get dirty down low. Bronson is second on the team in scoring and rebounding; Slivka is the team’s leading rebounder. The team’s rotation is eight deep with three freshmen coming off the bench playing some significant minutes. Brittney Fair and Tara Knapstein provide some scoring. Alayna Cotter is a glue player right now who fills in the gaps wherever she is needed.
Like the teams before them, they have some serious depth and potential. Only time will tell how well they do this season. If I were a betting man, I would put some serious cash down on these ladies to run through the GLVC and do some serious work in the post-season.
