The following is an interview conducted in person with Kristen Hoskins, a write-in candidate for SUFAC. Elections will be held on the 5th and 6th of April.
Kay: Please state your full name and age.
Hoskins: My name is Kristen Hoskins-Oliver, and I am 21 years old.
Kay: What is your year in school, and what are you majoring in?
Hoskins: I am a freshman. I am double majoring in Nursing and Psychology.
Kay: Are you involved in any other organizations on campus?
Hoskins: Yes, I am a member of Intervarsity and I am also a part of Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ).
Kay:Do you have any experience working with student government organizations?
Hoskins: Yes, I ran for secretary in junior high. I also ran for secretary and government in high school. It was a good experience and I did an amazing job.
Kay: What made you decide to run for SUFAC at large?
Hoskins: It might sound silly, but I love money. I know that our school systems are down. They are cutting funds. I really want to see if there is anything I could do, or any other student could do to help.
Kay: What do you think your qualifications are?
Hoskins: I am good with budgeting money. I am very punctual with projects and deadlines. Plus, I feel as though SUFAC needs someone new to bring new ideas to the table.
Kay: What do you think you can bring to SUFAC? Specifically, what would you like to change?
Hoskins: Like I said, I can bring a lot of new ideas to the table. I would like to see more funding for the different organizations on campus, especially with everything going on in Madison right now. We are lacking funds.
Kay: Why should students vote? How would you go about campaigning and encouraging student participation?
Hoskins: We need to vote. We should; this is our time to speak our minds and let our voices be heard. I would promote myself by rallying and hanging posters and flyers all over campus
Kay: What message would you like to leave the student body with?
Hoskins: I am an intelligent individual with a punctual personality. I just need the votes of the students so I can bring back the funds to the school systems. I know that if you vote me in, I will try my hardest to bring everything back to the student body.
